Another big step
Driven by Raudhah Amani's improved vocabs/speech development, coupled with her interest to play with other kids witnessed at local kidz fun zone, Zul and I believe that she is ready to be exposed to the crowd. She will celebrate her third birthday in 3 months time. I am in denial. Cepatnya kakak besar :)
The hunting began only this week. And yesterday, we have already finalised the play school for dear Raudhah. Insyaallah, will start sending her to the place this Monday *nervous*
The initial plan was to register for next year. However, Zul preferred that we enroll as soon as possible; before he moves to PD. Hopefully Raudhah will adapt well by then, Insyaallah. :)
The hunting-job
I did some survey and site visits, just to have some ideas of what to expect. The following are the underlying criteria that we took into consideration in selecting the best-fit-school for our darling daughter;
- The ambiance of the school; a factor related to cleanliness, air circulation/natural lighting through the windows, the staff and the kids.
- Daily schedule or activities; variety modules to encourage learning.
- Location and operating hours; along the route taken between home and work. Opens early is an advantage.
- Annual and monthly fee; not more than RM500 per month.
As usual, I did the ground work; short listing the preferred school, present my findings to zul before making up our mind. So here goes...
A) Taska Dunia Dinamik, Bukit Sentosa 1. Good surrounding, suitable for learning activities. From the art crafts displayed and the pictures of the children, I can tell that it is a happy place. The owner is energetic and has positive attitude. I like.
2. Offers very interesting activities. The school also has good rapport with local authorities. Student ada beg bomba tau! Mak budak pon belum tentu ada. Uses lots of learning material, I am impressed.
3. Located near home. Opens from 6.50am until 6.30pm. (My biggest problem. I leave home for work before 6.30am everyday :( )
4. Less than RM300 per month.
B) Tadika-X (I don't prefer this place and think I don't have to mention the name)
1. Gloomy, gelap, tingkap tutup, aircond throughout the day, siling rendah, no proper setup for 3yo learning activities, rumput serupa lalang, rasa sesak nafas dalam banglo tu. First point je dah out. Secara automatik, fail. Hehe.
2. Cikgu tak convincing...
3. Located in KL, near UTM Semarak and MINDEF.
4. RM300 per month.
C) Brainy Bunch Islamic Montessori
3. Out of my route.
4. RM600 over per month.
D) Taska Raniya
1. Feels like home. Very spacious. Got swimming pool. Happy kids :)
2. Uses Glen Doman method. Very interesting, with physical & gymnastic activities. And swimming class :D
3. Located in KL, near MINDEF.
4. RM500 per month (additional RM60 for sswimming lesson)
Oh it was fun doing the survey and site visits. I set the limit to 4 places, to prevent from being indecisive. Sebenarnya, mana-mana pon sama. The challenge is to find the place that wins your heart. Considering all 4 criteria, Taska Raniya not only caters ibu's heart but tackled ayah's value spelled as p.a.r.t.i.c.u.l.a.r. Boy, you are picky at times, ayah. But for a good purpose, I have to agree :)
I pray for a easy Monday; smooth first day at school for Raudhah Amani. Permudahkanlah urusan kami Ya Allah... Amin.
Doakan Raudhah Amani, ok? :)
P/s: went shopping for the must-haves school items today. Alhamdulillah
